How do you get to Block Island?Block Island is only accessible by boat or by plane. A 13 mile ferry ride from Point Judith, RI takes either 55 minutes (traditional ferry service) or 25 minutes (seasonal high speed service). Can I bring my car on the ferry? Yes. Vehicles may be brought to Block Island on the Point Judith ferry. Reservations must be made in advance. Click here or call 866-783-7996. Most guests do not bring their cars. We have limited parking on site which is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking is free, but it is not guaranteed. We are centrally located in town so we recommend leaving your car on the mainland and going on foot/bike while you are here!
Can I leave my car on the mainland?Yes. Parking is available at all transport depots. Cars are not necessary on Block Island.
Do I need a ferry reservation?Reservations are recommended for all transport to Block Island, unless you are coming from Point Judith on foot.
Is there a pharmacy on Block Island?No. Over the counter medications and medical supplies can be purchased at the Block Island Grocery Store. Perscribed medications can be flown over to the Block Island Airport when filled at McQuades or CVS pharmacy in Westerly, RI.
Is there a grocery store on Block Island?Yes. The Block Island Grocery Store is a short Block away and the Red Bird Liquor Store is located next door.
